While researching carpets, I stumbled upon Golestan's carpet store website.
I purchased a carpet from them because the images on their website were larger than those of other stores, making the patterns clear and detailed. They even had videos, which clearly showed the beauty of the carpets.
Later, a permanent store opened, so I went to check it out, curious about what it would be like.
To put it simply, I was able to see the beautiful colors of the silk carpets with my own eyes, which even the large photos and videos on the website couldn't fully capture.
I realized this only after seeing them in person, but it's incredibly difficult to reproduce the colors of a high-quality silk carpet as seen with the naked eye in photos or videos.
When I take pictures with my smartphone, they're strangely corrected, and the colors I saw with my own eyes aren't reproduced. This is no joke; what you see with your own eyes is distinctly more beautiful than what you see on screen. The store owner taught me about the beauty of these carpets, explaining a technique in silk carpets called "Sayekari" where "changing the angle of light reveals patterns that were previously invisible, much like a watermark on a banknote." Such techniques are not apparent in ordinary introductory photos.
As an example, I've attached two photos. The first is a picture of a carpet in the store, and the second is the same carpet photographed from a different angle.
In the first photo, a section appears to be a solid dark color, but in the second, you can clearly see patterns emerging.
I highly recommend seeing them with your own eyes at the physical store. Besides the carpets I've shown in photos, there are other silk carpets woven using this technique where the impression of the pattern changes dramatically when the angle of light is adjusted. I really want you to see and confirm this at the store.
Speaking with the owner of this store, it becomes clear that he runs his carpet business out of a mix of hobby and passion, and for that reason, I can recommend this carpet store.
