Unit price perSpread on the floor, the navy blue field simultaneously unfurls the tale of multiple figures and horses. A single combat, a hero in despair, a woman with disheveled hair—a single carpet pictorially recounts the tragedy of the great ancient Persian epic, the "Shahnameh."
"The Tragedy of Rostam and Sohrab" Woven by the Mirmhidi Workshop
This is a masterpiece from the Mirmhidi Workshop, renowned for its narrative pictorial works among Qom silk carpets. It depicts the tragedy of Rostam, the greatest hero of the Persian national epic "Shahnameh," and his son Sohrab, woven using the "simultaneous narrative technique" (a method found in historical paintings of both the West and East) that portrays five scenes simultaneously on a single canvas. Employing several times more colors than a typical Qom silk carpet, the expressions of the figures, the patterns of their costumes, and even the saddles of the horses are meticulously recreated through hand-weaving.
Five Scenes of the Story Contained in One Piece
1. Omen: A scene where a young Rostam and Tahmineh (the beautiful princess who would become Sohrab's mother) witness a Lamassu (a winged bull spirit with a human head). This is depicted as a premonition of conceiving an extraordinarily brave warrior's child.
2. Sohrab's First Battle: The grown son Sohrab engages in single combat with the Persian female warrior Gordafarid. A dramatic moment when he realizes his opponent is a woman the instant her helmet is removed. The scene also weaves in a depiction of his parents watching from afar.
3. Fierce Battle Between Father and Son: In the center of the carpet. The three-day fierce battle between the hero Rostam and his son Sohrab. After fighting without knowing each other's identity, Rostam emerges victorious, only to experience a moment of despair when he realizes that the one he struck down was his own son. The stunned gaze of his mother Tahmineh is also woven into the scene.
4. Separation: The scene where Rostam and Tahmineh part ways after their son's death. This interpretation, not present in the original work, adds the separation of the couple.
5. Mother's Recollection: A scene where Tahmineh, with disheveled hair, recalls her child's life. The carpet concludes the story with the mother's sorrow.
The Detail and Luster Unique to Silk
Because of the fine 100% silk threads, one can discern the expressions of the figures, the embroidery on their costumes, the manes of the horses, and even the metal fittings of the tack. The navy deepens with the angle of light, and the vermillion, gold, and green of the costumes emerge—an expression unique to silk.

Milmehdi Workshop Diamond Tiles and Roses
This piece is from the Milmehdi workshop, known for its delicate use of color within Qom rugs. The field is divided into diamond-shaped panels, with large bouquets of flowers, such as roses and peonies, woven into each panel. The field is deep green, and the border is light brown (golden orange), which tightens the overall design. It is a stylish piece that combines a classic panel composition called "Hashti (panel pattern)" with Gholfarang (Western-style floral pattern) roses.
Silk's Unique Detail and Luster
Only with fine 100% silk threads can the outlines of the diamond tiles, the petals of the roses, and even the veins of the leaves be discerned. The quiet change in expression of the deep green depending on the angle of the light is also unique to silk.
Placement in Your Home
Measuring 147 x 224 cm, this rug is the perfect size for a center rug in front of a three-seater sofa or as the main feature in a reception room. The combination of calm deep green and golden orange makes it a versatile piece suitable for both Japanese and Western-style rooms.

Heshtie Pattern from Bagerzadeh Workshop
This is a work from the Bagerzadeh workshop, known for its delicate use of color even within Qum. Twelve panels, 4 vertical x 3 horizontal, are arranged on a light blue background, each woven with a different classical motif (medallion, vase, Tree of Life, prayer wall). The Tree of Life panels even have hidden images of birds and deer woven into them, a composition that offers continuous discoveries the longer you gaze at it. This is a piece that combines the classical composition known as "Heshtie (panel pattern)" with a bright and subdued color scheme.
The Detail and Luster Unique to Silk
Because it's made from fine 100% silk threads, the motifs in each panel, the feathers of birds, and even the texture of the deer's fur are discernible. The subtle changes in the shades of light blue with the angle of the light are also unique to silk.
How to Incorporate into Your Life
At 105x160cm, it's the perfect size for an accent rug in the living room, at the foot of a bed in the bedroom, or as a wall hanging in a reception room. Many people also frame it for wall decor. Because silk is tightly woven, it doesn't attract fine dust, is less prone to static electricity, and daily cleaning only requires a vacuum cleaner.

Unit price perLooking down at the carpet, the pattern radiating outwards from the center in eight directions is reminiscent of looking up at the dome ceiling of an ancient ruin. This piece incorporates the theme of the classical Persian work "Hasht Behesht" (Eight Heavens).
Eight Heavens by Mirmehdi Workshop
This piece is from the Mirmehdi workshop, known for its delicate weaving in Qom. Against a mocha (beige-brown) background, a star-shaped dome structure radiates in eight directions from the center, with roses, vines, and small circular medallions arranged in each section. "Hasht Behesht" is a composition often seen in ancient architectural dome ceilings, and in Persian carpets, it is a classic known as the "Gombadi pattern" (dome pattern). When the owner first saw it locally, he was drawn to its precise alignment of radiation and the balance of colors.
The Intricacy and Sheen Unique to Silk
Because it is made of fine 100% silk threads, the motifs in each radiating section, the petals of the roses, and the flow of the leaves are all discernible. The way the mocha subtly changes its expression with the angle of the light is also unique to silk.
How to Incorporate into Your Home
The size of 146x230cm is perfect as a center rug in front of a three-seater sofa or as the main feature in a reception room. The calm mocha background makes it easy to match with both Japanese and Western-style rooms.
