The title of this work, "Shakargah," means "hunting ground" in Persian. What is depicted on this carpet is not simply a hunting scene; it is a story of a king, connected to the legend of Bahram Ghul (Bahram V), a hero of the Sassanid dynasty.
It is said that King Bahram once proved his courage and royal qualities by seizing the crown from between two hungry lions. This work depicts the king and his nobles riding horses and drawing their bows, as well as wild beasts, all in a dynamic and dynamic style.
