Description
This is a hand-woven wool rug with a traditional medallion composition, born from the nomadic way of life. Centered around a central medallion, plant and livestock motifs are scattered around it, creating a striking contrast with the background color.
Shiraz Nomadic Runner
This is a long, narrow runner rug woven by nomads in Shiraz, southern Iran. Diamond-shaped medallions are connected in the center, creating a rhythmic composition on the long surface.
100% Wool, from their own sheep's wool
The pile is made of wool. With approximately 250,000 knots per square meter, the outlines of the patterns are clearly defined. The variations in knots, unique to hand-weaving, create a depth and warmth not found in machine-woven rugs.
