This rug features four large diamond-shaped medallions connected on a deep red ground. It is a traditional style from northern Afghanistan, with layers of red hues that reveal different expressions the more you look at it.

Afghan traditional "Khal Mohammadi" style

This is a composition called Khal Mohammadi, where diamond-shaped medallions are vertically connected, woven by Turkmen people in northern Afghanistan. Based on three colors: deep red ground, black-brown outlines, and fine white ornaments, it exudes masculine strength.

100% wool, high-density hand-woven

The pile is wool. The variations in knots, unique to hand-weaving, create changes in the shades of deep red, and the rug's expression changes with the angle of light. The natural texture of the wool deepens with prolonged use.
