This rug features a deep navy blue background with red and cream rose-like flowers blooming across its entire surface. This European-inspired floral pattern, known as "Gol Farang" (Western flowers), makes the flowers stand out in contrast to the navy blue.

Bakhtiari's "Gol Farang"

This is a rug from the Bakhtiari tribe, who live a semi-nomadic life in the Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province in the central-west region. "Gol Farang" is a floral pattern that emerged under European influence in the 19th to 20th centuries, characterized by a splendid composition of realistic flowers spread across the entire surface.

100% Wool, Hand-woven Presence

The pile is wool. With approximately 320,000 knots per square meter, the outlines of the flowers and even the veins of the leaves are clearly depicted. The unevenness of the hand-tied knots creates a warm texture not found in machine-woven rugs.
