This is a Bakhtiari composition featuring alternating panels of deep red and navy, arranged in an orderly fashion. Within each panel, floral clusters and curved ornaments are woven, and the perimeter is surrounded by a cream floral border. It is a piece that combines both grandeur and meticulous detail.

Bakhtiari Heshti (Garden Pattern)

This rug is made by the Bakhtiari tribe, who live a semi-nomadic life in the Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province in the central-west. It features a "Heshti" lattice panel composition, with this particular piece showcasing a grand design of alternating red and navy panels, each containing a floral medallion.

100% Wool, Handwoven Presence

The pile is wool. With approximately 320,000 knots per square meter, the outlines of the floral clusters in each panel are clearly defined. The unevenness of the knots, characteristic of handweaving, creates a warm texture not found in machine-made rugs.
