Tabriz — The Tradition of Fine Craftsmanship Forged in an Ancient City

Tabriz, an ancient city in northwestern Iran, has the longest history among Persian carpet-producing regions. With its central bazaar and numerous workshops, it continues to uphold the tradition of intricate weaving, inheriting the legacy of court decorations. This piece showcases a classic design woven by a Tabriz workshop.

Intricate Hand-Weaving, Solid Construction

With approximately 610,000 knots per square meter, the patterns are clearly defined. The slight variations in knots, inherent in hand-weaving, create subtle textures in how light reflects off the surface. Tabriz carpets are renowned for their robust construction, tightly woven with intricate knots, and become more comfortable with prolonged use.
