Tabriz — The Tradition of Fine Detailing Honed in an Ancient City

Tabriz, an ancient city in the authentic northwestern region, is the production area that appears most frequently in the history of Persian carpets. Centered around its main bazaar and workshops, the tradition of intricate weaving, inherited from court decorations, continues to this day. This work is a classic design woven in the workshop lineage of Tabriz.

Intricate Hand-Weaving, Solid Construction

With approximately 510,000 knots per square meter, the outlines of the patterns are sharply defined. The variations in knots, characteristic of hand-weaving, create subtle nuances in how light reflects off the surface. Tabriz carpets are robustly constructed with tightly woven, intricate weaving, and they become more familiar with extended use.
