When laid on the floor, a majestic male peacock stands in the center of the rug, fanning out the ocellus patterns of its long tail feathers. Upon closer inspection, purple flowers bloom in a pale green garden, and three or four small blue birds flutter about on either side. It's a scene that seems to recreate the "Paradise Bird" of ancient Persian mythology on a single rug.

In Persia, peacocks have long been considered symbols of "beauty, immortality, divinity, and royalty," and have appeared repeatedly in palace furnishings and miniatures. This piece features a peacock as the main subject, woven in Qum silk, with a pale green garden, golden crest, emerald body, and meticulously woven ocellus-patterned tail feathers. Purple flowers and small blue birds are placed in the background, making the entire rug look like a painting of a paradise.

The Meticulousness and Luster Unique to Silk

Because it is made of 100% fine silk threads, every single feather of the peacock, the sparkle of the ocellus patterns, and even the blue and purple of the blue birds' wings are distinguishable. The emerald body quietly shimmers with the angle of the light, and the golden crest stands out.
