When placed at the entrance, an eight-petaled mandala-style medallion emerges in the center of the turquoise field. The field is filled with small pink, orange, and green flowers, and new flowers and leaves can be discovered each time you look closely.

Eight-Petaled Mandala Medallion from Mehrbakhsh Workshop

This workshop specializes in vibrant turquoise backgrounds and densely detailed patterns among Kum silk carpets. An eight-petaled mandala-style medallion is placed in the center, surrounded by large rachak (corner patterns). The entire field is densely packed with colorful small flowers on a turquoise background, and the border, with its intricate floral patterns on a sky-blue background, ties the whole piece together. This piece reinterprets the classic Rachak-o-Toranj (corner & medallion) design in refreshing turquoise.

The Intricacy and Luster Unique to Silk

Because it's 100% silk with fine threads, the overlapping eight petals, the outline of the rachak, and even each individual flower in the field are discernible. The turquoise shimmers with the angle of the light, and the sky-blue border stands out—an expression unique to silk.
