When placed in the living room, an oval medallion emerges from a mocha beige background, surrounded by colorful flowers and small birds. Upon closer inspection, birds with long, peacock-like feathers and small blue-feathered birds hide among the flowers, making the rug itself a miniature aviary.

The Bird and Flower Medallion from the Mir Mehdi Workshop

This is a creation from the Mir Mehdi workshop, known for its warm beige ground and intricate bird and flower motifs among Qom silk carpets. In the center is an oval medallion (turquoise + gold + pink floral motif). The four corners feature lachak (corner patterns). The entire field is densely packed with colorful flowers, among which several birds are subtly woven. This piece reinterprets the classic lachak-o-toranj (corner & medallion) design in a warm beige.

The Intricacy and Luster Unique to Silk

Because it is 100% silk with fine threads, you can discern the overlapping petals of the oval medallion, the outlines of the lachak in the four corners, and even the blue and purple of the birds' feathers. The mocha beige glows warmly with the angle of the light, and the turquoise and gold stand out—an expression unique to silk.
