This is a work from the Mir Mehdi workshop, renowned worldwide for its pictorial expression among Qom silk carpets. "Shekargar" is Persian for "hunting ground." The legend of King Bahram (Bahram V), a hero of the ancient Sasanian Empire, tells of him proving his right to rule by seizing the crown from between two lions. Since then, hunting has been woven into carpets as a symbol of authority, victory, and success. This piece features a king on horseback and his retainers in the center, scenes of tiger hunting on the left and right, fleeing deer and gazelles in the four directions, and leaping hounds. The ground is a golden field, and the border is deep blue with intricate miniatures of flowers and small animals. It is a piece where movement and stillness coexist.

This work is crafted from 100% fine silk threads, woven with an extremely dense pile. This precision allows you to discern every detail: the rider's expression, the horse's coat, the tiger's stripes, the deer's hooves, the dog's agility, the tension of the bow, and the patterns on the king's garments.
