Description
When laid at the entrance, small flowers connected by thin stems are scattered across a light green ground, with a diamond-shaped medallion elegantly emerging in the center. A deep blue border tightens it like a picture frame, creating an intellectual and serene scene.
Golriz (Small Floral Pattern) from the Mir Mehdi Workshop
This is a masterpiece from the Mir Mehdi workshop, known for its delicate weaving among Qum silk carpets. "Golriz" means "scattering flowers" in Persian, and true to its name, this piece features tiny flowers scattered across the entire ground. It has a diamond-shaped medallion in the center, a detailed sun motif inside it, and lachak (corner spandrels) in the four corners. The field is light green, the border is deep blue, and accents of blue and brown maintain the classical dignity. The geometric symmetry composed of straight lines creates a composition that evokes intelligence and calmness.
The Intricacy and Luster Unique to Silk
Because it is woven tightly with fine 100% silk threads, each individual small flower scattered on the ground, the sun motif in the center of the medallion, the outlines of the lachak in the four corners, and even the continuous floral pattern of the border are discernible. The light green gains luster depending on the angle of the light, and the blue border deepens, an expression unique to silk.
How to Incorporate into Your Life
At 77x119cm, it is the perfect size for an entrance mat, wall hanging, in front of a desk in a study, or framed as the centerpiece of a living room or study. The combination of light green and blue goes well with both white walls and wooden floors, adding an intellectual calm to the space. It is a piece suitable for those who appreciate elegant designs, from younger generations to the elderly.
A one-of-a-kind item selected by the owner at the workshop in Qum. You can see the actual luster, intricate details, and the flow of small flowers scattered on the ground in the video. Persian Carpet Specialty Store Golestan.
