Description
On a slightly subdued teal-green ground, a golden candelabra-like vase stands tall, with coral pink flowers overflowing across the entire surface. Golden columns flank either side, and the border features large floral cartouches. It's a three-dimensional and vibrant scene, reminiscent of French palace decor.
Vase and Bouquet by Mil Mehdi Workshop (French Design)
This is a creation from the Mil Mehdi workshop, known among Qum silks for its eclectic designs that combine Western motifs with a teal green ground. It features a golden candelabra-shaped vase in the center, golden columns on either side, coral pink roses, chrysanthemums, and small flowers scattered across the entire ground, and a border adorned with intricate floral cartouches. This piece reinterprets the classic Persian vase pattern (Goldani) with a French palace-style flair.
The Intricacy and Sheen Unique to Silk
Because it's made of 100% fine silk threads, you can discern the details of the golden vase, the borders of the columns, the shading of the coral pink petals, and even the cartouche decorations on the border. Depending on the angle of the light, the teal green deepens, while the gold and coral emerge, a characteristic expression of silk.
How to Incorporate into Your Home
At 83x121cm, this size is perfect as a center rug by a sofa, a focal point in a reception room, at the foot of a bed, or framed as a wall decoration. The slightly subdued blue-green is easy to match with both white walls and wood floors, adding a dignified centerpiece to any space.
