Description
Viewed under the evening light, the slender boteh patterns arranged on a yellow ground appear like cypress trees swaying upwards. Woven with varying color schemes of red, light blue, navy, and gold for each individual pattern, it's a design that never ceases to fascinate the closer you look.
Continuous Boteh Pattern Woven in Khorasan
Boteh, called "pine cone" or "cypress" in Persia, is an ancient pattern symbolizing life and eternity. The continuous composition, passed down and woven by the nomadic Qashqai people of the southwest, has been reinterpreted with the intricate handiwork of the eastern Khorasan region. Four rows of boteh create a tranquil rhythm across the entire carpet.
100% Wool, Outlined by Knots
The pile is wool. With approximately 320,000 knots per square meter, even the thin stems and veins of the boteh are clearly outlined. The subtle undulations characteristic of handweaving remain in the ground color, and a softness unparalleled by machine-made rugs can be felt in the palm of your hand. The fringe is left in its natural, undyed state.
Placement in Your Home
The size is 135 x 224 cm. It's suitable as a center rug in front of a three-seater sofa or under a dining table. With a yellow base, it instantly brightens up any room. Its dimensions make it easy to match with both wooden floors and white-walled rooms.
