Description
The design is based on the finely curved medallions originating from Aaliyeh Workshop. Flowers and arabesque patterns are densely woven into the central medallion, showcasing Tabriz's intricate craftsmanship throughout the entire piece.
Tabriz — A Tradition of Fine Craftsmanship Honed in an Ancient City
Tabriz, an ancient city in northwestern Iran, is the region that has been mentioned for the longest time in the history of Persian carpets. With its central bazaar and numerous workshops, it continues the tradition of intricate weaving that originated in court decorations. This piece is a classic design woven in a Tabriz workshop.
Intricate Handweaving, Sturdy Construction
With approximately 510,000 knots per square meter, the patterns are sharply defined. The natural variations in the knots, characteristic of handwoven pieces, create subtle shifts in how light reflects off the surface. Tabriz carpets are known for their robust construction, with densely woven, intricate knots that become more supple with prolonged use.
Usage Guidelines
The size is 100 x 150 cm, making it a medium-small rug suitable for an entryway, bedside, next to a sofa, or under a desk in a study.
