This rug features a calm color palette of beige and cream, with leaves, flowers, and vines intertwined across its entire surface. There is no central emblem; instead, the pattern spreads evenly from one end of the rug to the other.

Sultanabad Style – A Design Cherished in the West

This composition originated in Arak (formerly Sultanabad) in central Persia, where it has been woven since the late 19th century. The continuous all-over pattern of flowers and leaves is called "Afshan" in Persian. These rugs were exported to Europe and America at the time and were beloved in stately homes furnished with antique furniture. It is a classic style that complements traditional interiors.

The pile is made of wool. Although multiple colors such as red, green, blue, and yellow are woven into the beige ground, the subdued color scheme gives it an overall calm impression.
