When hung in a hallway or on a wall, a large chandelier, as if suspended in a palace audience hall, floats in the center of a deep brown ground. Flanking it are a pair of white fountains and cypress trees, with small dome-shaped buildings along the top edge. This single rug depicts a scene from a Persian palace like a painting.

"Palace Chandelier" - A Natural Dye Original by Mohammad Jamshidi Workshop

Among Qom silk rugs, this is a naturally dyed (vegetable dye) silk piece, a practice continued only by the main branch of the Jamshidi family, the Mohammad Jamshidi Workshop. It features deep, clear browns, serene golden ochres, calm pinks, and deep indigos that cannot be achieved with chemical dyes. Despite the use of many colors, the overall impression is one of serene harmony, precisely because natural dyes naturally resonate with each other. The large central chandelier, the paired white fountains, the cypress trees, and the small dome-shaped buildings on either side—this original design, crafted into a silk rug, depicts a palace scene reminiscent of Persian miniatures.

Because it is 100% silk, the closer you get, the more details become visible: the decorative beads of the chandelier, the white streams of the fountains, the windows of the domes, and even the tips of the cypress leaves. The luster of the silk changes with the angle of the light, making the tranquil brown ground and the vibrant decorations stand out.
