Among Qom silk carpets, this is a silk piece dyed with botanical dyes, a technique continued only by the Mohammad Jamshidi Workshop, the main lineage of the Jamshidi family. The theme of this work is "Gombadi" (dome pattern) – a symbolic Persian architectural composition that flattens the decoration seen when looking up directly from below at the ceiling of a mosque. A small sun medallion is placed at the center, from which triangular spokes radiate, filling the interior of each spoke with intricate geometric and floral patterns. Mineral-like cartouches adorn the four corners, and intricate medallion frames line the top and bottom, all enclosed by a deep indigo border.

Because it is 100% silk, details become visible as you approach, from the central sun medallion to each individual radiating triangle, the cartouches in the four corners, and the intricate vine patterns of the border.
