This piece is from the Mirmehdi workshop, a renowned producer of Qum silk. At its center is a navy diamond medallion with a colorful sun motif within. Intricate arabesques and countless small flowers are scattered across the pale sky-blue field, and salmon half-circle spandrels adorn the four corners. The vibrant blue border features individually woven creatures such as butterflies (papillon), phoenixes, peacocks, and swans. This rug perfectly balances the splendor of the central medallion with the joy of discovering creatures in the border.
