When placed in front of a sofa, the cream-colored ground reveals a large tree with outstretched branches, two facing peacocks beneath it, and colorful small birds inhabiting the branches, creating a paradise-like scene. The border is filled with peach-cream flowers, and if you look closely, you'll spot a small bird subtly hidden there.

This piece is from the Mirmehdi workshop, known for its exquisite Tree of Life (Darakhti) paradise depictions among Qum silk rugs. The cream ground represents the sky and atmosphere, with a large tree in the center, two facing peacocks beneath it, and small birds scattered among the branches. In ancient Persian cosmology, the tree connects heaven and earth, and peacocks symbolize eternal souls. This rug isn't just a garden scene; it's a weaving of paradise itself.

Silk's Unique Detail and Luster

Because it's made of fine 100% silk threads, every detail is discernible: each tail feather of the peacocks, the blue of the birds' wings, the tiny flowers at the end of branches, and the overlapping petals of the border. The cream glows with luster depending on the light, and the blue and green of the peacocks stand out – a characteristic expression of silk.
