This is a work by the Mil Mehdi workshop, which excels in the geometric composition of dome patterns (Gombadi) among Qom-produced silks. Adopting the Hasht Behesht composition, meaning "Eight Heavens" in Persian, it expands from a central octagonal star, connecting rose patterns in rhomboid panels. This piece unfolds on the carpet a view of an ancient Persian architectural dome ceiling as seen directly from above.

Because it's 100% fine silk thread, you can discern every rose in each rhomboid panel, the small border of the octagonal star, the fine lattice pattern of the border, and even the arch decoration in the corners.
