When placed in a living room or on a wall, a turquoise oval medallion appears to float in the center of a deep wine red frame. From the center of the medallion, countless fine lines radiate outwards, and as you get closer, you can see a detailed landscape of vines and flowers.

Dome-style medallion by Sedighiyan Workshop (Lachak Toranj)

This is a work by the Sedighiyan Workshop, made of Qom silk. In the center is an oval turquoise medallion, with a small rosette at its core from which radial intricate decorations spread outwards, creating a composition that resembles looking up at the dome ceiling of a mosque from directly below. The medallion is surrounded by pink and red circular rings, and on the outside is a deep wine red field with cartouche frames of vines and intricate flowers. At the top and bottom are mihrab-style arches and small cartouches, with a small deer band pattern at the very top, and green spandrels spread across the four corners. This piece showcases the Sedighiyan Workshop's unique color sense, where multiple colors are used yet the overall impression remains quietly unified.

Luster and intricacy of 100% silk

Because it is 100% silk, details become more apparent as you get closer, from the radial pattern in the center of the medallion, to the vines on the turquoise ground, the continuous floral border in wine red, and the cartouches in the four corners. The luster of the silk changes with the angle of the light, and the clarity of the turquoise and the depth of the wine red alternately emerge, showcasing the true essence of Qom silk.
