When light streams through the window, the red roses blooming on the blue-green field suddenly brighten. This piece is like a painting, with roses, small purple flowers, and branches of the Tree of Life spreading across the entire field.

Red Roses and the Tree of Life from the Mirmehdi Workshop

This is a work from the Mirmehdi workshop, known for its delicate use of color even among Qum rugs. On a blue-green (turquoise) field, large red roses, yellow roses, and small purple flowers are intricately woven, with vines and leaves of the Tree of Life extending horizontally and vertically between them. Without a large medallion in the center, the entire field is configured as a single flower garden, showcasing Mirmehdi's unique and stylish sensibility. When the owner first saw it locally, they were drawn to the contrast between the transparency of the blue-green and the red of the roses, and chose it.

The Intricacy and Sheen Unique to Silk

Because it is made of fine 100% silk threads, every detail of the rose petals, leaf veins, and stamens can be identified. The way the blue-green subtly changes its expression with the angle of the light is also unique to silk.
