When displayed in the entranceway, the tree of life rising from a blue-green field, and the reddish-purple vase at its base, immediately catch the eye. Looking closely, you'll discover a pair of birds hidden on both sides of the vase and in the upper two corners, making this a piece with continuous discoveries the closer you look.

Albar Workshop's Vase and Tree of Life

This is a work from the Albar workshop, known for the delicacy of its designs even among Qum rugs. An arched composition known as a "mihrab" (prayer niche) features a reddish-purple vase (guldān) in the lower center, with a tree of life extending upwards from it. Furthermore, a pair of lion-like creatures are woven on both sides of the vase and in the upper two corners. The field is a blue-green (turquoise) ground, and the border is a deep reddish-purple that tightens the overall appearance. This is a piece with depth, adding a narrative element to the classic vase motif.

The Precision and Luster Unique to Silk

Because it is made of 100% fine silk threads, you can discern even the leaves of the tree of life, the decorations on the vase, and the feathers of the birds at the top. The blue-green quietly changes expression with the angle of the light, which is also unique to silk.
