Description
When unfurled in a reception room, the arch window panels arranged across the entire field give the impression of looking up at the ceiling of a palace. This is a classic composition known as "Windows of Paradise."
Windows of Paradise by Mir Mehdi Workshop
This piece is from the Mir Mehdi workshop, renowned in Qom for its delicate weaving. "Mihrab" (prayer niche)-shaped arch windows are arranged vertically and horizontally across the entire field, with octagonal starburst patterns woven into each window. Each window resembles a small dome peering into paradise, and multiple windows together create a scene reminiscent of a palace's coffered ceiling. This is a classic composition called "Windows of Paradise," reflecting Persian architectural designs onto a carpet.
The Intricacy and Luster Unique to Silk
Due to the fine 100% silk threads, you can discern the radiant patterns in each window, as well as the intricate floral designs in the border. The way the field's color quietly changes with the angle of light is also a characteristic unique to silk.
How to Incorporate into Your Home
At 198x308 cm, this large size is perfect as the centerpiece of a living room or reception room. The combination of calming beige-brown and reddish-brown is easy to match with both Japanese and Western-style rooms, and the regular composition tidies up the entire space.
A one-of-a-kind item selected from Qom and brought to you. You can see the actual luster and details of each window in the video. Golestan, a specialty store for Persian carpets.
