Description
When unfurled in a reception room, a rich crimson field bursts with blooming flowers and winding vines that spread across the entire rug. It's a composition that showcases a single flower garden across the entire field, without a central medallion.
Full Esrefli Pattern from Milmehdi Workshop
This is a creation from the Milmehdi workshop, known for its delicate weaving among Qom rugs. Islamic curvilinear vines ("esrefli") and multi-colored flowers are densely woven across the entire deep crimson field. This composition is called "Afshan (scattered pattern)," a "full pattern" style without a central medallion. The border features a light brown (gold-toned) floral pattern, creating a calm contrast with the deep crimson of the field. The artisan's signature is also included in the border.
The Intricacy and Luster Unique to Silk
Because it's made from 100% fine silk threads, every single flower and vine outline scattered across the field, and even the characters of the signature on the border, are discernible. The way the deep crimson subtly changes its expression with the angle of light is also unique to silk.
How to Incorporate It into Your Home
At 107 x 163 cm, it's the perfect size for a reception room, at the foot of a bed in a bedroom, as a runner in a hallway, or framed as a wall hanging. The combination of deep crimson and light brown adds warmth to a serene space.
