When laid at the entrance, a turquoise field is filled with red, pink, purple, and yellow flowers, with an oval medallion floating in the center. It's a sea of flowers within a rug, where you discover new blossoms every time you look closely.

Siraj Workshop's Turquoise x Sea of Flowers

This workshop specializes in producing vivid turquoise (teal) backgrounds among Qom silk rugs. An oval medallion is placed in the center, with small floral rosettes inside. The surrounding field is densely packed with colorful flowers on a turquoise ground, and the four corners feature "rachak" (corner patterns). The border is deep blue with intricate floral patterns that tie the whole design together. This is a splendid piece that reinterprets the classical "rachak-o-toranj" (corner & medallion) design with a sea of flowers.

The Precision and Luster Unique to Silk

Because it's 100% silk with fine threads, you can discern the overlapping petals of each flower, the veins of the leaves, and even the tiny rosettes at the center of the medallion. The turquoise shimmers with the angle of the light, and the colors of the flowers stand out.
