When laid at the entrance, a multi-colored sun medallion emerges from a turquoise (blue) background, with ornate gold lachaks in the four corners, and a black border along the perimeter that tightens the overall design. At the bottom is the weaver's signature in Persian. This piece embodies both vibrancy and dignity.

Medallion (Tranj & Lachak) by Ashraf Workshop

This piece is by Ashraf Workshop, known for its delicate use of color among Qum silk products. It combines the classical "lachak-o-tranj (corner + medallion)" composition with a turquoise field and large gold lachaks, tightened by a black border around the perimeter. The central medallion is a菱形(lozenge-shaped) sun emblem, with a rosette inside and small bird-like motifs on either side. The contrast between turquoise and black is a color scheme that further enhances the gold corner motifs.

The Intricacy and Luster Unique to Silk

Only with fine 100% silk threads can one discern the sun emblem in the center of the medallion, the intricate arabesques in the ground, the gold ornaments in the four corners, and the intricate continuous floral pattern on the black border. The turquoise deepens in blue and the gold emerges depending on the angle of light, a characteristic expression of silk.
