When laid at the entrance, a star-shaped sun medallion emerges from a deep blue ground, with a profusion of colorful flowers blooming across the entire surface. The four corners feature a "lachak" (corner motif), and the bottom edge bears the Persian weaver's signature. Though simple, it's eye-catching—a classic among entrance mats.

Meherbakhsh Workshop Medallion (Tranj & Lachak)

This piece is crafted by the Meherbakhsh Workshop using Qom silk. It features a classic "lachak-o-tranj" (corner + medallion) composition, with a deep blue field and a border of the same color, adorned with a scattering of colorful flowers. The center boasts a star-shaped medallion with a radiating sun motif inside, and lachak motifs at the four corners. The intricate floral arabesques across the entire field create a rich color scheme despite its simplicity.

The Intricacy and Sheen Unique to Silk

Because it's made from fine 100% silk threads, you can discern even the smallest details: the sun motif at the center of the medallion, the flowers scattered across the field, the lachak in the four corners, and the intricate designs on the border. Depending on the angle of the light, the deep blue deepens, and the colorful flowers appear to float—a characteristic expression unique to silk.
