Sedighian Workshop's Vase Medallion (Goldan & Tranj)

This piece is from the Sedighian Workshop, a powerhouse in Qom silk. It combines the classical "Goldan & Tranj" (vase + medallion) composition with a soft pale blue field and a deep brown border. Inside the central medallion is a vase (goldan) motif, flanked by golden paisleys, and with lachaks (corner designs) in the four corners. The pink inner border further enhances the pale blue, creating a contemporary yet classically dignified color scheme.

The Intricacy and Luster Unique to Silk

Because it is tightly woven with fine 100% silk threads, the vase in the center of the medallion, the paisleys on either side, the lachaks in the four corners, and even the two-tiered pink and brown border are all discernible. The pale blue changes as if breathing with the angle of the light, and the deep, subdued luster of the silk is also an expression unique to silk.
