Description

When laid in front of a sofa, a luxurious scene unfolds: a golden mandala rosette floats within a purple central medallion, surrounded by intricate turquoise and multicolored floral patterns. This living-sized rug commands attention as the centerpiece of a reception room.

Purple and Gold Mandala Medallion from Albar Workshop

This is a work from the Albar workshop, known for its rare color combinations and highly detailed patterns, even among Qum silk rugs. An oval medallion with a purple ground is placed in the center, with a golden concentric rosette (mandala-style) within it. Lamp-shaped pendants are at the top and bottom, and lachak at the four corners. The entire field is filled with intricate turquoise and multicolored floral patterns, creating a dynamic, garden-like appearance across the rug.

Intricacy and Luster Unique to Silk

Because it is made of fine 100% silk threads, you can discern every detail, from the overlapping petals of the mandala and the outlines of the pendants, to each individual delicate flower in the field. The purple deepens with the angle of the light, and the gold and turquoise emerge—an expression unique to silk.

How to Incorporate into Your Home

At 136 x 197 cm, it is a perfect living-sized rug for a center rug in front of a sofa, a centerpiece in a reception room, or an accent beside a bed. The gorgeous purple, gold, and turquoise color scheme stands out against both white walls and wooden floors, adding a dignified centerpiece to any space.

This is a one-of-a-kind piece personally selected by the shop owner at a workshop in Qum. You can see the actual luster and intricate details in the video. Golestan, Persian Rug Specialty Store.
