When laid at the entrance, a scene unfolds where a golden vase is quietly placed in the middle of a deep navy ground, from which an abundance of roses, chrysanthemums, and dahlias rise. A closer look reveals small birds hidden among the flowers, a tranquil garden residing within a single rug.

Mirmehdi Workshop's Vase and Flower Arrangement (Gordaan)

This is a work from the Mirmehdi Workshop, known for its deep navy ground and classical vase motifs among Qom silk carpets. A golden footed vase (called "gordaan" in Persian) is placed at the bottom center, with chain-like decorations on both sides, from which roses, chrysanthemums, dahlias, and small pink flowers rise. This rug elegantly encapsulates the classical Persian vase motif on a deep navy ground, giving it a distinguished finish.

The Intricacy and Luster Unique to Silk

Because it is made of 100% fine silk threads, you can discern the thin gold lines of the vase, the overlapping petals, the veins of the leaves, and even the feathers of the hidden small birds. The deep navy recedes with the angle of light, and the golden vase and red/pink flowers emerge, creating an expression unique to silk.
