This piece is a creation by the Kadizadeh workshop in Tabriz, Northwestern Persia. Tabriz is renowned for its wool and silk blend weaving, where high-quality wool forms the base, and silk is woven into the outlines of patterns and as accents in floral motifs. In the center is an ivory circular medallion, with intricate floral patterns and soft rose colors within, and small paired medallions (sarlachak) above and below. Arabesques and lotuses flow gracefully across the navy ground, connecting to the ivory spandrels in the four corners, creating a classic lachak-toranj composition.
