Placed in front of a study chair, a large lobe-shaped medallion gracefully unfurls on a deep brown ground, with a green border quietly framing its outer edge. In the corners are small gold and salmon pink flowers, and in the center of the border is the weaver's signature. With its understated yet sophisticated color scheme, it pairs beautifully with vintage furniture.

Samadi Workshop Medallion (Rachak O Tranj)

This piece is from the Samadi workshop, which specializes in hand-weaving a combination of silk and wool from Qum. It features a large central medallion with radiating lobes, a sun motif (shamse) and intricate flowers within, and golden rachak (corner motifs) in the corners. Combining classical composition with deep bitter chocolate brown and forest-like green, it unifies the design with earth tones.

Two Textures of Wool and Silk

The base is made of durable wool, with silk woven into the decorative elements. The plump thickness and resilience unique to wool coexist with the intricate details of flowers and medallions depicted with fine silk threads. This hybrid design creates a unique appearance where the brown deepens in varying light, and the silk decorative lines subtly emerge.
