(See photo.) A deep, lustrous field of purple is filled with vibrant pinks, crimson roses, and radiant yellow flowers, painted like a bouquet. The gradations of each petal and the vibrant shades of the leaves are meticulously rendered, creating a sense of realism that makes it seem more like a still-life oil painting than a woven fabric. The swirl of flowers radiating outward from the central medallion exudes an intoxicating energy and sensuality.

■The magic of color brought out by "purple" and "black" The deep "purple" used as the base color and the heavy "black" that tightens the border (outer frame). This dark combination makes the vibrant colors of the flowers on top stand out even more.
