The composition features a deep green field framed by a detailed red border, creating a series of small panels. The design removes the ornamentation from the center, making the color of the field itself the main attraction, a clean and straightforward construction typical of nomads.

"Kaf Sadeh" Composition with an Empty Center

This is a composition woven by nomads around Shiraz, where the central field is largely left open, and the decorations are concentrated around the perimeter. This style is called "Kaf Sadeh" in Persian, and it is designed to showcase the color tones of the field and the texture of the wool itself. The calm tones of the deep green add a sense of tranquility to the space.

100% Wool, Shiraz Wool

The pile is wool. Since the center is almost plain, the natural undulations of the wool and the shades of the dye directly contribute to the rug's character. The variations in knots, unique to hand-weaving, create a warm texture that machine-made rugs cannot replicate.
