Description
This large, single piece features a regularly arranged pattern of octagonal gul (flowers) across its entire gold-brown surface. The symbolic designs of Afghan tradition are fully displayed on this expansive 200x300cm rug.
Afghan Traditional "Gul" All-Over Pattern
This composition has been woven for centuries by the Turkmen people in northern Afghanistan. The octagonal motif is called "gul" (flower) and is a symbolic design of Turkmen rugs. The masculine design, based on two colors—a gold-brown ground and a dark indigo outline—is further enhanced by its 200x300cm size.
100% Wool, Densely Hand-Woven
The pile is wool. With approximately 320,000 knots per square meter, it is finely woven, and the outlines of each gul are clearly defined. The inherent irregularities of hand-tying create a rich, layered texture in the gold-brown color.
Placement Guide
Measuring 200x300cm, this large rug is suitable as a center rug for a living room or a centerpiece in a reception area. It pairs well with antique furniture, leather sofas, and dark wood furniture, adding a sense of grandeur and tranquility to the space.
