This is a traditional hand-woven wool rug with a medallion design, born from the nomadic lifestyle. With a central medallion as its axis, plant and animal motifs are scattered around, creating a striking contrast with the ground color.

Abadeh's Traditional Medallion

The authentic southern Abadeh region is a traditional production area located between Shiraz and Isfahan. The classic composition features a geometric medallion on a deep crimson ground, and this piece is a prime example of that lineage's royal design.

100% Wool, from Their Own Sheep

The pile is wool. With approximately 180,000 knots per square meter, the patterns have clear outlines. The variations in knots, unique to hand-weaving, create a depth and warmth not found in machine-woven rugs.
