Description
This is a traditional hand-woven wool rug with a medallion pattern, born from the nomadic way of life. Centered around a medallion, plant and livestock motifs are scattered around, creating a striking contrast with the background color.
Abadeh Traditional Medallion
Abadeh, a traditional production area in the southern heartland, is located between Shiraz and Isfahan. This piece features a medallion composition, with a navy background that tightens the pattern.
100% Wool, from Their Own Sheep Wool
The pile is wool. With approximately 250,000 knots per square meter, the outline of the pattern is clearly defined. The unevenness of the knots, unique to hand-weaving, creates a depth and warmth not found in machine-woven rugs.
