Description
Displayed in the entrance, it's the first thing you see every time you open the door. The glittering vase on a black background, and the pair of peacocks on either side, reveal more details the closer you look.
Albar Workshop's Vase and Peacocks
This piece is from the Albar Workshop, known for its intricate designs among Qum carpets. A vase (ghordan) is placed in the center of the upper panel, flanked by a pair of peacocks. The lower panel features a smaller vase and flowering trees with branches spreading out like trees of life on either side. It's a narrative piece with a composite composition, layering classical vase imagery, known as "prayer niche (mehrab) style," with a pair of birds and a tree of life.
The Intricacy and Sheen Unique to Silk
Because of the fine 100% silk threads, every detail of the vase, the birds' feathers, and the flow of the leaves is discernible. The way the colors change with the angle of the light is also a unique characteristic of silk.
For Entrance Mats or Wall Hangings
59 x 90 cm is a standard size for entrance mats. Many people also choose to frame it as a wall hanging. Silk is tightly woven, which repels fine dust and prevents static electricity, so daily maintenance only requires vacuuming.
A one-of-a-kind item selected from Qum. You can see the actual sheen and intricate details in the video. Golestan, a specialty store for Persian carpets.

Colours That Shift With the Angle
Thanks to the silk's sheen, the rug's character shifts with the viewing angle and the light.
