Heshtie Pattern from Bagerzadeh Workshop

This is a work from the Bagerzadeh workshop, known for its delicate use of color even within Qum. Twelve panels, 4 vertical x 3 horizontal, are arranged on a light blue background, each woven with a different classical motif (medallion, vase, Tree of Life, prayer wall). The Tree of Life panels even have hidden images of birds and deer woven into them, a composition that offers continuous discoveries the longer you gaze at it. This is a piece that combines the classical composition known as "Heshtie (panel pattern)" with a bright and subdued color scheme.

The Detail and Luster Unique to Silk

Because it's made from fine 100% silk threads, the motifs in each panel, the feathers of birds, and even the texture of the deer's fur are discernible. The subtle changes in the shades of light blue with the angle of the light are also unique to silk.
