This is a work from the Mil Mehdi workshop, which excels in eclectic designs combining a deep green ground with Western-style decorations, even among Qom silk carpets. A large paisley-shaped vase is placed in the center, from which roses, chrysanthemums, dahlias, spherical flowers, and small flowers rise, with golden columns on either side. The border features golden Rococo-style decorations and intricate floral patterns. This piece reinterprets classic Persian vase motifs in a French palace style.

The Intricacy and Luster Unique to Silk

Because it is made of fine 100% silk threads, one can distinguish the thin gold lines of the vase, the decorations on the columns, the overlapping petals, and even the thin gold lines of the Rococo decorations. The deep green recedes with the angle of the light, and the gold vase and colorful flowers emerge, a characteristic expression of silk.
