This piece is by the Masoud Jamshidi workshop, renowned for its Qum silk carpets. "Golriz" is a Persian word meaning "scattering flowers," referring to the traditional composition of scattering flowers and animals around a medallion. This piece features a cloud-shaped (ojival) light blue medallion in the center, with brown and multi-colored sun motifs inside. On the deep green ground, vases rise from the salrachaks above and below, and small animal silhouettes are depicted in the pink and beige spandrels. A vibrant blue border tightens the frame, and the weaver's signature is at the top.

100% Silk Luster and Detail

Because it's 100% silk, the closer you look, the more details emerge, from the sun motif in the center of the medallion to the salrachak vases, the small animals hidden in the ground, and the intricate continuous floral pattern of the border. The luster of the silk changes with the angle of the light, and light blue and vibrant blue alternately emerge on the deep green ground—the true essence of Qum silk.
