This is a work from the Mir Mehdi workshop, known for its delicate weaving among Qum silks. The classical vase design (ghaldaani) is complemented by a quatrain (rubaiyat) by the great Persian poet Khayyam, woven in gold thread at the top edge. The poem reads: "The clouds cover the sky and weep over the vast green grasses and flowers. These blooming flowers are our view today; when we someday turn to dust, who will gaze upon that green?"
